Les souliers!! (I gave a board exam in French bitches!)

Spotted this photo on yet another all-time favourite site of mine: www.highheelconfidential.com. If you have not checked it out yet, you MUST, MUST, MUST (right after you're done with my blog!)

While usually I love Sonam Kapoor's sense of style (wish I could say the same about her acting), I can't say I particularly care for her outfit above. But what I do <3 are those shoes!! Soooo drool-icious. From Roger Vivier's Spring-Summer 2012 collection, these Belle de Jour shoes come with his signature rectangular buckle on the front.

While this particular version of the shoe comes in three toned suede with a three inch heel, the design itself is a Roger Vivier classic that can be found in red and black in leather as well.

My pick however is the suede which while otherwise priced at $575, is on a 60% discount at http://www.rogervivierus.com and can be bought for a neat $230!

The story of my life!

These make me GREEN with envy!!! (Lame I know :P)

My new all time favourite site is Pinterest!!! So much nicer, happier and less bitchy than facebook! Spotted these gorgeous peacock printed (?) heels today:

Pinned Image
While originally these shoes appear to be from thisnext.com, the link there seems to have expired. I am simply unable to tell whether the peacock feathers have been printed or embroidered. Nor do I know which brand these are from. Any ideas??

Muchas gracias to the 900+ pinners of these shoes thanks to whom these turned up on my feed!

Summertime!!!

So Aldo America's new summer collection has some really awesome flat sandals. So awesome that Anjana, the indecisive Libran, is having a very hard time deciding which she would (hypothetically) like to buy. Like most summer sandals, these come with a rubber sole and fabric on top. In no particular order, I like:

Brisky - Priced at $50, I loooveeee the shiny applique work on top. Don't think I've ever seen such Indian looking work in a foreign shoe brand before. Have you? It makes Brisky (which also comes in brown, beige and bright blue) the perfect accompaniment to Indian and western wear!

Then there is Gutmann - While I can't say I entirely like the style or the colour of the sole (is it just me or does it have a very sadak chhap feel about it??), I louuuuvveeee the colours. The bright orange and fuchsia make for a winning combination that would look stunning with a summery white dress. With the rupee falling at its present rate, Gutmann is definitely more reasonable than Brisky at $40.

The synthetic Hardenburg has super funky jello straps in cool, fluorescent colours including green, orange and pink. What I particularly love is the colour coordinated sole. While otherwise priced at $35, Hardenburg is currently on sale at $18.74!! Friends in the US, BUY, BUY, BUY!

And finally there is Micheals - T strap sandals in light pink and black. I think the pretty flower ornament on top makes these the most VFM at $40. But then again I am a sucker for girly shoes with flowery things on top.

A little shout out to Aldo at this point - I can only hypothetically decide which to buy since Aldo US doesn't ship to India and Aldo India doesn't have online shopping at all! :( Aldo please to be rectifying?

Jimmy Choo: Thou art the Greatest

My first paean had to be to Jimmy Choo. So here's presenting Abel - classic pumps in teal blue from the Pre Fall 2012 collection, these beauts are made of elaphe snakeskin (a Jimmy Choo trademark of sorts) and come in the signature ciggy heel. A full four inches of it. Pointy at the front, they're perhaps not ideal for the big foot-ted (alas! that would include me). Abel is nonetheless, purr-fect for a formal (yet not super formal) occasion.

I might team these with this snakeskin clutch:

Or if that's getting too match much, maybe this simple black dress:

Priced at $550 only :)

My first post!! :D

I've never really understood why people blog and never ever thought I'd have one, but here I am!!

I love shoes. All kinds of them - cheap, expensive and exorbitant. Flats, heeled and the ginormous. Footpath-iya, unbranded and branded. I have what is possibly the biggest collection of unworn shoes ever and constantly bombard friends with pictures of shoes I would like to have. And over time I have found that drooling over pictures of shoes and imagining how they would look on my pretty feet gives me a kick (no pun intended) like no other. Soooo the point of this blog, for now at least, is simply to share photos of pretty shoes (in the fervent hope that some generous, rich soul somewhere will see my blog, realise how much I love shoes and buy me that long coveted pair of Jimmy Choos!)
